About the poet and author.

Sammy Pen, a passionate writer and reviewer whose pen name has become a lasting part of her journey. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York City. Sammy always dreamed of becoming a published author and poet. Sammy Pen decided to achieve a higher degree at the age of 33 years old and there she rediscovered her first love for writing again at The College of New Rochelle. She then eventually went on to earn her MFA in Creative Fiction in 2018. Now, Sammy Pen is dedicated to sharing her voice and stories with the world, creating a platform for Black and Brown women who have been silenced in a society that often overlooks their strength and contributions. Not only is she creating a platform for Black and Brown women who are constantly marginalized, she is creating a platform for all women who are constantly undermined in todays society that have to defeat gender assigned roles. An author and poet whose first anthology of life works has been curated. Over the years, she has explored various genres and writing styles, continually honing her craft. The aspiring author is also set to release another upcoming book, "Them And Us, The Beginning" later on this year that takes readers on a thrilling ride through sci-fi fantasy and suspense but somehow touches every topic from racism to socio-economic discrimination. This intriguing book reverses the expectations of society. Pen choses the gender role of the protagonist who will be left to save what is left. Join the poet as she weaves captivating stories that will resonate with every race, the human race because the stories shared are all about overcoming the odds.
